Orthodontic Tips – Wear your elastics!

Wear your elastics as recommended to finish your treatment on time!

If you are asked to wear your elastics full time that means all the time except when you are eating and brushing. Wearing them only at nighttime actually works out to wearing them less than 50% of the time. Inconsistent elastic wear actually takes longer for your teeth to adjust to these new forces (which means elastics can feel painful for longer) and does not allow for continued changes in your bite correction. Doubling up on your elastics can actually slow down your tooth movement instead of speeding things up. So get those elastics on and be sure to let us know if you need some more!
